About EZDown Tailgate Assist Dampers
EZDown Tailgate Assist Kits use two way valve Hydraulic Dampers to provide greater ease and hands-free convenience in lowering pickup truck tailgates. The EZDown solution is simple and affordable. As pickup trucks continue to increase tailgate height, shorter and older owners and family members struggle to handle them, sometimes resulting in tailgate safety issues. (Standard tailgate weight is 35–40 lbs bare, and 70+ lbs for those with bed liner applied). The tailgate assist kits take less than 15 minutes to install and all the tools and instructions for installation are included.
The EZDown Tailgate Assist kit equips pickup truck tailgates with soft-release, hands-free lowering, using quick disconnect dampers to absorb the impact and slow the speed of tailgate descent. When closing the tailgate, EZDown helps ease the effort by counterbalancing the lifting load. An EZDown damper kit for a Ford F-150 or Dodge Ram Tailgate is about 16" long, and weighs 8 ounces. The EZDown damper kit for a Chevy or GMC Tailgate is about 11" long and weighs 5 ounces.
